Fungurani is a visual artist, graphic designer, video artist, and web developer who resides in Lesotho. Fungurani’s work has been exhibited and showcased at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, the Wrong Biennale for Digital and Internet Art and Performance in Bergen, Norway. His graphic design was also featured on the Institute of Development Studies’ Africa Universities Research Approach website. In 2021, Fungurani was commissioned to create the website for the historic town of Morija, Lesotho. He has also developed the official website of the Morija Museum and Archives. In 2022, Fungurani managed the “Reappropriating Lesotho’s Cultural Heritage Through New Media Project” as a Project Coordinator.
The project was part of the Sound Connects Fund, which was part of the ACP-EU Culture program, a project implemented by the Organisation of the African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) and funded by the European Union (EU). Fungurani led an ambitious project with multiple high-quality outputs, including a research paper, an ethnomusicology curriculum, which he co-authored, a 20-minute animation film, which he also co-produced, and a short film. Along with these outputs, Fungurani also managed to get the project on the first-ever European Development Day (EDD).
Fungurani is currently building an augmented reality heritage tourism application in the historic town of Morija, funded by Selibeng Sa Thuto (SA).
