Khaulah Abdulkadir

Emerging scholar and intern at the National Museums of Kenya, Lamu World Heritage Site Conservation Office

Khaulah Abdulkadir is a native of Lamu Island in Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. She is greatly involved in the preservation of her cultural heritage and currently serves as an intern at the National Museums of Kenya, Lamu World Heritage Site Conservation Office. Her responsibilities include collecting and digitising manuscripts with colleagues on the MPRINTLAMU Project across the archipelago while maintaining the metadata. She is skilled in urban mapping and has collaborated with several research teams. Khaulah is a dedicated advocate for heritage preservation activities among the youth, with a keen interest in leveraging technology. She is also experienced in public speaking on the intersection of technology and heritage, having presented before several international audiences. As the key local technical person for the recently launched Kijumwa Heritage Hub, Khaulah is passionate about seeking opportunities that contribute towards innovative projects that bridge the gap between youth, technology and cultural heritage.
